More pics from Kentucky Down Under

As I mentioned in the prior blog my trip to Kentucky Down Under this weekend was awesome! They had a ton of fun filled activities available for families during their annual Aussie Fest. I absolutely love this place! They have many cool animals and reptiles. It is also a very scenic area. It's almost as though you are walking through Australia. I was able to get some great landscape shots. They even feature tours of the Kentucky Caverns which has some very interesting stalagmites and stalactites. Their homemade fudge is to die for. If you are ever in Kentucky do yourself a favor and plan to spend a day at this wonderful place. You'll be glad you did.

I spent the day shooting at Kentucky Down Under. It was a great day, the staff was great, and I got some wonderful shots. I finally got home and I'm getting through them all. There were so many great shots to choose from. I'm posting a few tonight, many more to come tomorrow.

The leaves are starting to turn!

I got some more great photos out at the lake today. The leaves are finally starting to change. In about two more weeks they should be just right.

Around the lake

This week has been crazy busy! I haven't had much time to get out and photograph anything. I'm trying to get my schedule caught up some so I can take off when the leaves change and get some photos of the pretty fall foliage when the leaves are at their peak. I did finally get some time to get out to the lake, relax, and take some photos just for fun. I think I should be able to get some great images here when the leaves have finally changed colors. They are just starting to change so in about two weeks hopefully they will be at their maximum beauty.

I caught a picture of this little guy while walking around downtown Nashville. He didn't seem to be bothered by me stalking him to get a photo. I'm glad he obliged. His feathers were several shades of lovely colors. This must be my week for bird pics.

Death to the Tinman

Feeling particularly nostalgic today I decided to go through some old storage boxes containing school stuff from high school and college. I found my binder from my college film class. That was my absolute favorite class! If you have the option to take a film class as an elective do it. That class introduced me to so many films that I might not have seen otherwise. One of the papers I came across was one that I had wrote about Death to the Tinman. This is an ingenious short film that was produced by Ray Tintori for his undergraduate thesis. I had honestly forgotten all about it, but a Google search quickly led me to YouTube which of course had the film in it's entirety. (YouTube is the best.) Enjoy!
